Mud and Twig, a young pair of siblings flee their home after it is attacked by dogs and their family is murdered. The pair travel through the lands in search for a new forest to call home. Along the way they meet other cats and form friendships. They meet a cat who tells them the tale of 4 great clans. Inspired by this story the pair decide to start their own clan....and so the story begins...
