14th November, 2095
A bottle glass shattered. She shrank to the corner of the house but did not cry. Her face was peaceful as she watched him destroy the space.
"That’s it for us." He said.
She noticed the date on the watch before the man left: March 4, 2019.
The alarm jolted her back to reality. She looked puzzled at the area she was in, although her subconsciousness told her it was her home, but she could not reminisce. She sat on her bed, and her phone rang. She had no idea who was calling her. She closed her eyes and stirred up some painful feelings in her heart. The reasonless emotion caused her to ignore his phone.
"Can you forgive me, Danielle?" It was a call.
She opened her eyes and perceived better now.
"Who are you?" She expressed her perplexity to him.
"52 and 78 years ago, you were my girlfriend. Please don’t pretend it is our first meeting." He stopped for a while and continued, "Can we have a chat outside of the mansion? Just a 5-minute talk."
Danielle looked at the conversation between them and tried to assume that she owned the memory. She never became the one to love him profoundly as before, so she could not get into his role. However, if she was really the person he loved, she couldn’t find a reason to refuse him. She needed to become her in order to adapt to this society.
There are lots of questions in her heart. Why is her cognition different from that of the real world? Who was the real person? What is his true identity? If the relationship was close before, why she lost the story with him? Finding him was the first step, she was going to search for the answer.
If the photos on her phone were true, she would be shocked to learn that she had previously been loved by someone else. She could not believe this would happen because her past was full of sorrow. In her innermost world, she had imagined that she would die without regret when she had a boyfriend. But the person lost.
She walked outside the building, terrified, with little expectation. She walked outside the building with little expectation. She was frightened, the boxes in the dark gave her a feeling of diminishing and oppression, which could have made her scared of the meeting. Her heart told her not to go, but she could not stop walking toward him. He was not a very good-looking person, but she felt the perception of his care. She didn't know the actual reason. Maybe she understood why she chose him as her companion, because this characteristic attracted her a lot. His clothes showed the serene person inside him, a quiet but gentle person. The beautiful facade deceived her eyes, she stepped back when she saw red dirt on his blue clothes. The dirt was too brilliant to dispel the first favourable impression of him. The alarm in her heart rang again.
"What is your purpose." She asked with a deep and yielding voice.
"Can we return to the initial?" Dan seized her arm. The force compelled her to try to disentangle, but she could not. He stopped her action and yelled, "Don’t neglect me again, it is your second time, please, don’t."
"Sorry sir, I don’t think we have met before." This was her answer to him. She pretended to be sorry to him because she also wanted to ask for the photo in her phone, which depicts their actual relationship.
"Don't you find it strange that the phone contains photos of me?" How the messages between us exist in this world?" He said it in hushed tones. "You are mine, before and till the end of the world."
"What you want to do!" She finally untied herself from the entanglement and asked. She gave up her calm and let it out emotionally.
"We met in 2016, and one year later, on July 30th, we became a couple." He stepped forward and skimmed her hair. " After the three-year relationship, then 24 years later, we were together again." The alarm from her heart rang again, and she had to leave.
"Sorry, we should not meet. I have to go." She did not know where her power came from, and he did not follow her.
She didn't hear his mumble, so she missed the chance to ask about their meeting.
She hoped that was only a joke from the god she relied on. However, the truth was not a joke; she discovered that she had completely forgotten about him by 2016, the year they were supposed to meet.
This section of the story began with her relocating her home ten days later.
"You are mine."
His voice appeared in her head; she couldn't get him out of her mind these days. Not because she changed her mind, but because the answer was still covered by "someone". She reflected on his hints, the time they met or———fell in love. It was her second time, what did he mean? And the appearance of photos in her phone, who did that?
But now, she needed to stop thinking. She moved to her new house with her remaining memory, and her heart released when she looked at the house she had decorated. After lunch, she started cleaning. She dropped a letter; she picked it up and read it.

I cannot count how many times we shout to each other. Our distance keeps us apart, the broken heart will never heal, and my love will never wither. You started to stop the conversation between us, you told me that you hated me. The only thing I can do is catch you.]
[8th September 2042
"When I approach you to enter your life. I was wondering, why I prefer a deeper relationship rather than being a friend. I felt intimate with you when I first saw you." You told me.]
It was a call for doubts. Her heart was filled with dread as she sensed something hidden behind the story. She didn’t know who to tell, so she chose to call her grandmother, Mary.
"If you ask for Dan, I can answer you." She told her.
"How come there are letters in my house?" Why do I have old photographs? I have checked the date on those photos, and they were taken before my birth. He said I loved him, but do you think I really do?"
"Why do you think you don’t fall in love with him?"
"If," Danielle stopped. "If I love him deeply, why has the story turned to a bad ending on 4th March?"
"People admire the person who caused them pain because it makes them feel valued." Mary’s mind flew away, she recalled the chart she had with him five months ago about his selfish love. Maybe in the story, he just wanted to get attention from others or her, but he lost the way to love a person.
"Hurt?" Her head was filled with surprise and doubt. But it may answer her questions. She understood his behaviour as abnormal. Most importantly, she was forced to believe in the preexistence of her and him.
"Yes, his assault on you." Mary continued. "That was the reason you broke up with him on 4th March 2019. I saw your bawling and soreness and the announcement of the breakup."
"How come you know everything about me and him?" She voiced the questions in her heart."Why do you need to tell me that? Who is the person in the story? I was born in 2068 not 2019."
"I was his neighbour 81 years ago, it was effortless for me to meet him every day." There was an image in her head: she had dinner with two families; he was asked to look after her sometimes…… It was a beautiful dream for her. "I met you before too, Danielle, and I saw the breakup between you and him in 2019 and 2045.
It was fortunate to meet Dan five months ago. I recognised him when I saw him on the street. He did not have a big change, same as your face."
In those ten days, he didn’t find her. She presumed the ending of the story. She put the thought about him aside and returned to work in the office. His appearance was roving, and she realised that she could live without the story between them.
Now, her feeling changed. Fragments from her soul were omitted in her letters by showing her love to him. The similarities between them in the photos were showing some "truth". Her job as an editor gave her a better understanding of words; she could imagine how he wrote them. The words on the letter were active, condemning the relationship between "him" and "her". She could not find herself in her life, the letters were the final way to tackle her question. So she called Mary, she was on her way to finding the answer.
"He does not deserve your love. But, he, will find you later."
Mary cut her phone off.
Danielle entered the world of dreams that night. She realised she had reentered the world she had experienced, when she begged for something. She entered a world full of black people and met a girl. The girl had an aureole on her head and a light beside her. Her face, however, was so blurry that it created an occult perception.
"Don’t be afraid my dear, you will know everything will go to the origin."
"Who are you?"
"You will know when you know how this world operates." She smiled. "I rescued you from the water 50 and 76 years ago, but your memory is the price you must pay for your third life. It was the universal rule."
Danielle realised it was time to return to the real world, the world without him, when her body vanished in the sealed space.
"Her" words proved the correctness of Mary, she knew she could not deny the relationship anymore. Maybe reincarnation really existed at a different point in the timeline, so that she was still a 27-year-old woman. But why was she still known as Danielle? What was the thing that pushed her to death?
The halt of the call alerted the alarm in her heart, and the curious words from Mary pushed her away from the door. She found it hard to deduce the actual meaning of the sentence, the reason for its appearance, and the relationship between them. However, doing nothing was becoming more difficult. The sound is getting louder and louder. She grappled with the handle, using her strength to try to win the battle.
"How did you find out about my new house?" She yielded, and doubt for his coming.
"I do not ask for your forgiveness." Dan perceived that he needed to say something to alleviate the condition. "I understand the pain in your heart; I also understand how distressed you are about me; and I want to apologise to you."His voice kept going down; she could think of his regret for her, and she opened her door.
"Dan, you do not need to say sorry to me. For me, you are my past, and this home is my future. I do not admit your existence, I thought that you knew what I meant. I am sorry." She then closed the door, but the force obstructed her.
The dream reminded her of the importance of making a decision. The forlorn end prompted her to ponder why and how. Dan's irritable demeanour always smelled dangerous to her; perhaps that was the start of the action.
"No, no, please, no." She saw his tears and entreated. His fantasy was shattered, and his eyes were hopeless and disenchanted. She found that it was not the first time he had apologised to her, but she did not know what identity she should use when she faced him.
"Sorry, I have to close the door."
"Why am I the one who is going to lose?" She felt he lost control at the same time. "Why do you always insist on seeing me, Danielle, before and now?"
"Give me a reason to stay." This man was only 27 years old, he still had the opportunity to choose his lover, but now he stood in front of the woman he hurt, and grabbed her to prevent her evading him. He never put himself in her shoes, which was making her lose patience with him. She pondered her question: why was she the person?
"I now bid you farewell."
"For?" Danielle dispelled the idea of leaving away, it was the first time she looked into his eyes.
"I know it was nonsensical to find you in this moment, but I want to tell you I am trying to follow the guide from destiny. This is what I learned from the past." Dan looked at the girl. "Mary was always the bridge between me and you, she was the one to put those photos into your phone."
Dan didn’t wait for Danielle to ask her question, he simply placed a card in her hand and walked away. It is a card for a psychiatrist. People used to believe it was a way to see into your heart, past, and future. He was curious how the person assisted him in verifying everything about them and wished she would come to him for the truth.
He arrived his home. His screen was spread out to show Mary. It was a call, actually, they had a call 10 days before.
The call happened after the talk with Danielle. He got lost because he didn't ask for his true identity. Who was the person in the past? Who was the person in the present? "He" was the body or the soul in the body?
"Mary, why you choose to tell me everything?" He remembered and asked
"After you died 32 years ago, I was asking myself, why I had feeling with you. However, I know God cut off all possibilities between us, as our relationship was that of brother and sister. I could not even detest you because I realised that I could not replace her after her death! "I saw you fall in love with her again after her first death in 2043; I saw your deep emotion; you convinced me she was resurrected because of the similarities between her and the circumstances 24 years before!"
He never saw her cry; he wanted to console her, but she hadn't finished her sentence.
"I think I understood the feeling when I saw you five months ago. I found that I never forgot the feeling about you, maybe you had the same feeling when you saw her here at that time—or maybe, we did not have a destiny to be together." She sighed.
She attempted to calm her racing heart. He was no longer the one she knew, and he could not understand why she cried.
"Dan, don’t be stubborn to her."
"I knew I couldn't when I saw her."
53 years ago, the day they met was on 3rd August, he was excited to tell her the meeting of them. He was a manager, she was his subordinate, it was her first day of work, he restrained his emotions by not going to her department to speak with her, he failed.
"Danielle, nice to meet you."
His impulsiveness would never change.
Their love would never die.
