報載，年輕座頭鯨在大溪地（Tahiti）附近水域遭一艘超速 6 倍行駛的渡輪猛烈撞擊，上顎被切斷。座頭鯨因傷勢過重無法游到水面，痛苦掙扎數小時後溺水死亡。

據水底攝影師 Rachel Moore 稱，該條名為 Sweet Girl 的座頭鯨對人類友善且好奇，痛斥牠不該受到這樣的對待。

海洋生物遭溺斃 ── 那是多麼殘酷的死亡方式，而且掙扎長達數小時，無法想像 Sweet Girl 當時有多麼痛苦彷徨😢

鯨落後成為養分，望 Sweet Girl 美麗的靈魂可以飄往沒有人類的海洋暢泳。
