Flames surrounded everything, spreading like a virus, reaching even the places they were never meant to touch.
The sight before her was enough to shatter a heart.
She stood alone, completely alone

Without it, people tear at your existence like merciless beasts,
Leaving you hollow and broken.
The most beautiful part of her existence, her face, was now engulfed in flames.
“Help! I’m burning! Doesn’t anyone hear me?” She screamed, her voice raw and torn.
“Ah!Ahh!”
Her cries of agony echoed through the floor.
Suddenly, she felt a presence.
Someone threw a cloth over her body, attempting to smother the flames.
She could feel the coolness spreading over her scorched skin.
The fire that had claimed her body just moments ago was now slowly being extinguished.

The pain was so intense that it didn’t spare her even in her semi-conscious state. She opened her eyes and groaned in agony.
“Why am I still alive? Why haven’t I died yet?”
Her screams were raw, torn from the depths of unbearable suffering. Struggling to look around, she realized they were inside a very large car, being driven by someone in the front seat.
“Ahh! Ahh! It hurts! I’m dying!” She wailed, each word trembling with pain. Her breaths, which used to come and go almost unnoticed, now came in shallow, ragged gasps. The agony was so overwhelming that she silently wished, “If only I could wake up and realize this is just a dream. This pain… it cannot be real.”
“You won’t be hurt. Nothing will happen to you. I won’t let anything happen to you. I will protect you,” a voice said from the driver’s seat.
“Who… who are you?” She asked, her voice trembling. The sound of her voice alone was enough to pierce her soul; it carried a depth of pain so heavy it could split one in two.
“Don’t speak,” he said softly. “You will feel pain. Every time you suffer, I suffer with you. Every time you feel it, I die too.”
“Do you know me?” She asked.
Each time she spoke, her body drained more of her strength, and the pain intensified. Still, she gathered what little courage she had left and spoke again.
“Don’t try in vain… I won’t survive. There is no desire left in me to live,” she said with great difficulty, groaning through the pain.
“I know,” he replied quietly. “But you will have to live. If you don’t survive, then along with you, another life will die as well… and that life will be mine.”
“Why do you care so much about me, as if you know me?” She asked.
“I don’t even know you.”
As soon as she said this, the pain no longer allowed her to speak or even to hear anything else.
The agony took complete control of her body.
It was as if the pain itself wanted her to keep writhing,
as if it were punishing her for mistakes she didn’t even understand,
sentencing her to suffer without mercy.
She had reached the hospital.
They were taking her out of the car.
So many voices surrounded her, echoing all around, but the hands holding her and laying her onto the stretcher felt like one single hand.
She could feel every bit of it, every touch through unbearable pain.
