The thought stayed in my mind.

I knew it was childish.

But every time I saw Korn looking at Narin and me with those unreadable eyes...

My curiosity grew stronger.

Why did he always look so upset?

What was he thinking?

A few days later, our lunch break began.

As usual, Narin came to my classroom.

"Ready?"

I smiled.

"You ask that every day."

"And every day you make me wait."

We laughed and walked toward the canteen together.

The corridors were crowded with students from every grade.

Some were buying snacks.

Others were talking loudly with their friends.

It was just another ordinary school day.

Or so I thought.

As we reached the staircase...

I noticed Korn standing with a few classmates from his year.

He looked in our direction.

Our eyes met for a second.

Then...

An impulsive thought crossed my mind.

Without thinking...

I reached for Narin's hand.

He looked at me in surprise but smiled.

"What is it?"

Instead of answering...

I stepped closer.

Then, right there in the corridor...

In front of dozens of students...

I gently kissed Narin.

It lasted only a moment.

When I pulled away, the corridor became unusually quiet.

Then the whispers began.

"Did you see that?"

"They just kissed..."

"Seriously?"

Narin looked at me, completely surprised.

"What was that for?"

I smiled awkwardly.

"I just felt like it."

He laughed softly and shook his head.

"You're impossible."

I looked toward the staircase again.

Korn was still standing there.

His face had gone completely still.

He wasn't angry.

He wasn't shouting.

He simply stared at us for a few seconds.

Then...

He turned around and walked away.

Without saying a single word.

For some reason...

Watching him leave made my chest feel strangely heavy.

I had wanted to see his reaction.

But now that I had...

I wasn't sure why it didn't make me happy.

I didn't know it then...

But that single kiss...

Would lead to a knock on my door later that night.
