Anas told Karasu and Nex about the part-dragon girl called Rai, he told them about her situation, he also explained, "Beast folks and hybrids like her were described as less than humans, so racism and slavery are common for them. The worst part was that they were hunted because their scales and fur were better than normal dragons and animals. While they were looking for her, they came across a particular scene where a group of four boys were bullying her.
"Damn slave, go back to the farmlands and help!" One of them mocked.
"God, your fangs look awful!" Another one said.
"And good thing we are allowed to use eye magic to protect her," Anas said while looking at Karasu and Nex. The trio walked up to the boys, when one of them spotted the three, he wasn't scared since he thought the trio can't use magic to hurt them.
And 10 seconds later, they were crying for help and running to tell a teacher, "Hey, are you okay? We are your bodyguards that principal Agnus sent. My name is Anas," Anas gently said to her, she slowly calmed down and the other two introduced themselves too.
"Thank you for saving me, what do I owe you? I know you aren't doing this for free," Rai said while still scared.
"Nah, you don't owe us anything. Just be more comfortable with us and that's all," Anas said with a gentle smile, then the four boys came back with Mr Blaze.
"It's them, they used eye magic to hurt us. Now punish them," one of them said to Mr Blaze.
"As if I am gonna punish them, how about you apologize for bullying her?" Mr Blaze said with fury, the boys were shocked.
"They used eye magic on school grounds, that's against the rules," a few of them shouted simultaneously.
"Firstly, you were the ones who bullied her and secondly, they have the permission from the principal herself, so if you have any questions about them using eye magic, go talk to her," Mr Blaze said with a smile.
The boys were too afraid to ask the principal, so they gave a half-hearted apology and ran off.
"Thank you Mr Blaze," Nex said.
"No need to, I was just doing my job, anyways, good luck on becoming the bodyguards this time," Mr Blaze said as he left. This scene made Rai comfortable with the trio and she started opening up about her experience so far, the only assholes so far were just the four boys, so she didn't have to worry too much.
"By the way, what is your eye magic? I don't know anything about the dragons, so I am curious, but you don't have to tell me if you're too uncomfortable," Nex said.
"Um, my eye magic are scale shots and heatwave beams..." Rai said shyly. This actually surprised all of them, including Anas.
"Wait, you can shoot your scales? That's so cool!" Anas said. "This is the first time I have heard a dragon shooting out their scales, it's not common," Anas continued. They went on and asked questions about Rai and she started to show more trust towards the trio.
After saying goodbye to Rai, they slowly walked back to where everything started: the peaceful beautiful cherry blossom trees.
"Hey remember that whole magnitude 6 gate in the sky?" Karasu asked.
"Of course I do, we were laying down on the corpses. However, I think I heard you say something, Anas, but I didn't hear it clearly, and we were quickly moved to the nurse's office," Nex said.
"Oh right, I said the gate was way easier than a magnitude 6. Think about this, not even one finger came out and even then, it's a magnitude 6 gate, it should have a pillar at this point or even higher," Anas explained to them.
A pillar is a higher ranking finger, it's smarter and its output is that of a silver ranked mage or higher, though its durability is still the same as a finger.
"Though the gate looked like one, it definitely wasn't that hard. The gate itself was harder than the cruels that came out," Anas continued.
"Maybe it was a false alarm? Maybe they were too scared," Nex said.
"Whatever it may be, it doesn't concern us for now. We were kinda lucky, if a pillar came out, we would have been dead a long time ago," Karasu said.
They just chatted while laying on the ground, just reminiscing the past: their hellish training, assignment scores, popularity, first mission, first encounter with Clover and now this.
