"A marriage? Why would he want something like that?" he asked, intrigued and clearly bewildered.
Acalia sighed, her gaze fixed on the horizon. "It could be a trap, but now that you are involved, I can almost guarantee that it is."
Biel narrowed his eyes, processing her words. Before he could respond, Ylfur intervened, slightly bowing his head in a show of respect.
"My lord, this could be far too dangerous. Let me deal with that vampire."
Biel looked at him with determination, his voice firm and steady. "No. I have to go. I must protect not only Acalia but all of you as well. I cannot stay on the sidelines."
Biel's words seemed to resonate with Acalia. For a brief moment, a spark of emotion crossed her face, but the seal blocking her feelings prevented it from fully showing. Even so, Biel noticed the change, though he chose to remain silent, respecting her privacy.

The vampires promised not to attack humans in exchange for regular blood donations. It is a tense peace, but it has prevented war for centuries."
Acalia’s words left the group pensive. It was difficult to imagine such a precarious alliance, but it was also a testament to how desperate the circumstances must have been.
Upon reaching the Outer City, they were greeted by a landscape that was both gloomy and vibrant. The streets were lit by lanterns emitting a bluish light, creating a phantasmagorical atmosphere. Humans and vampires walked together, though distrust was evident in their glances.
Suddenly, a female figure emerged from the shadows. She was a young girl with pink hair that shimmered under the dim light. Her presence held something magnetic, yet unsettling.
"You should leave these lands immediately," she said in a firm voice that allowed no objection.
Acalia took a step forward, her posture imposing. "We cannot. We have come to see the Vampire King, Lip."
The girl raised her eyebrows in surprise. "So, you are my brother's betrothed..." her voice carried a mocking tone.
Biel, perplexed, intervened. "Are you the daughter of the Vampire King?"
The girl stepped into the light, revealing her face completely. "Yes, I am Sarah, the youngest daughter of King Lip."
Even more surprised, Biel responded, "Nice to meet you, my name is Biel."
Sarah's eyes lit up upon hearing his name. "So, you are the famous Biel everyone is talking about in these lands!" she exclaimed with a mix of fascination and curiosity.
These words left Biel bewildered. He had never visited Durden, yet they already knew of him. With a knot of doubt in his heart, Biel played along, intent on gathering information. Sarah, with an enchanting smile, invited them further.
"Come with me. I will take you to meet my father."

The group followed Sarah toward the High City. Meanwhile, in the Ebony Palace, the Vampire King Lip spoke with his son, Muskar.
"Your betrothed is already here, my son," Lip said in a solemn voice.
Muskar looked at him with discontent. "Father, why are you doing this? You know I do not love Acalia. She is a great friend to me."
Lip smiled coldly. "This marriage will save your dear friend, and the humans as well."
Muskar frowned. "What do you mean by that? How would it save Acalia and the humans?"
With a calculating tone, Lip explained, "We have an alliance with the humans. If you do not marry Acalia, the alliance will break, and a war between vampires and humans will begin. You wouldn't want that, would you?"
Muskar, though doubtful, nodded. "Very well, Father. I will marry Acalia to maintain the alliance."

Back with Biel and his group, they arrived at an inn in the Outer City. They decided to rest before their encounter with Lip. With three rooms available, they opted for a game to decide the pairings. The results were as follows: Xanthe and Easton shared a room as siblings, Ylfur and Acalia were paired together, and Biel would share a room with Sarah.
Xanthe, somewhat jealous, whispered, "I wanted to sleep with Biel..."
Acalia also wanted to say something, but the seal prevented her from expressing her emotions. For her part, Sarah smiled mischievously.
