“Wait this is the girl you been competing with this 6th grade?” I asked.
“Mommy I liked him first.” My beautiful smart straight A student daughter.
”I know you two did not fight over somebody’s dusty ass son.” I said looking between the girls. I never met dreams parents but I know they were gonna be pissed.
”Dream please tell me I didn’t not come out of work because you were figg gg hot over a boy.” A deep voice came behind me. I turned around and saw this fine ass man looking at me. I stood my ground. It was the first time I seen a fine ass man.
”Daddy why are you here?” Dream asked.
”School called said you got into a fight. Here I was thinking this girl bullying you all these years and it’s you.” He said.
”So what happened.” They told us the story and it was his daughter who started the fight. It didn’t matter to me about who started the fight. They were fighting over a boy. They were sixteen so it wasn’t surprising but it definitely was disappointing as fuck. These girls were top of there class letting some ugly ass boy ruin there future.
”You know what I got a great idea you two are gonna come work with me this summer running one of my vans together.” I said.
”Running a van?” He asked.
“I’m Lilly of Lilly pads mobile dog services.” I said handing him my card.
”Oh shit say less. Looks like you got a summer job. You two been in competition for years when yall should be working together.”
”I’m gonna go live with my daddy.” My daughter had the nerve to say.
”Oh and you think your daddy so much better? Where is he now Daliah?” I asked.
”He’s not here because he hates you. You’re so cold and mean. Daddy told me how you wouldn’t even let him come home when he asked you.”
Yes Ryan tried to spin the block after he found out the girl he thought was all about him wasn’t. Ole girl had his baby and found out it wasn’t his and wanted to double back on some shit naww. We not doing that. I haven’t had no man for real since we broke up I just kept some dick to call up when I needed it. Not many things hurt my feelings but when my daughter said she rather live with her dad that shit hurt my soul. I have been there for my daughter with everything she did. Debate team plays dance cheerleading I was there supporting my child her dad barely showed up. Yet he somehow always was the better parent like what kinda shit is that.
”Normally we would suspend people who are fighting but these girls are our top students so we are willing to settle for them tutoring some of our struggling students instead.” Her principal said.
”Done.” We both said.
I had my daughter in the car. Since she wanted to live with her dad so bad I arranged it. I gave him three weeks. I told him what happened at school and his ass was pissed. I pulled into the driveway.
“why are we at dads house.” Daliah asked.
”You wanna live with your daddy right? Here we are.” I said.
”Mama no come on I was just mad.” She said.
”Nope. You are so much better than what you are doing. Letting a boy get you out your hookup is wild work. You fought that girl over a boy and then not only that looked me in my eye and told me this is where you want to be so here you go.” I shrugged.
”Mama I’m sorry.” She said about to cry but I was standing my ground with this.
”what’s up Mayweather.” Ryan said.
”Hi daddy.” She said looking down.
”Naw don’t look down now you wasn’t looking down when you were fighting over a boy let’s go. Now.” He said and she got out the car. She walked in his house. Ryan stood there staring at me.
”I miss you ma.” He said to me.
”And I miss gas prices being low.” I said and backed out his driveway.
