Did the bear (who i think is Theo) kill Hania's father as well? Same hunting party, he got "knocked out" and didn't see the animal... sure, sure. 
We'll find out...

I wonder if the man-turned-bear is someone who will become important in Hania's life—Sidimund's son, perhaps? But there isn't really evidence for that, so it could be just another random male character.
