I wonder if that potion will actually do what Avol says. I know he used to a be a trusted friend, but I do have my doubts now that I've seen a bit of what he's been up to.

I have to admit, I'm a bit saddened by the rift that's begun to grow between Varin and Thistle. I liked their friendship and their dynamic before Thistle became regent. But I understand that it's just because of how their characters have developed.

...not going to lie, I'm trying to build a little bit of tension between Varin and Thistle as well because of their growing attraction to each other. Since it isn't possible, I wanted their sexual tension to come out in conflict (:

@Frances, Haha, well, it's working. Normally I'm a bit wary of adding romance only because some writers use it just because they think they need it, but I think it's a bit necessary in this story and doesn't sacrifice the characters at all.
